Silvio Pellico | Participatory Design of a school Playgrounds
The playground design was the research of my thesis in architecture.
The thesis presented the case study of the importance of participation of the final users in the instructional development.
The project began with the assumption that children must have an outdoor space within the school to play and the assumption that they must have a central decision-making role in defining how the space can be designed.
The more children are involved in developing and therefore understanding and respecting their environment and their community.
The research goal was to develop a participatory model for designing school playgrounds through the narrative.
Thanmain challenge was to design a space that was flexible for different ages, the school was a primary school so the range age was from 5 to 10, and for different activities that not necessarily were ludic but also educational, a classroom with no ceiling but the blue sky.
