Gourgeous Prototype (PLA)

“Gorge,” and “gorgeous,” are related but different words, from related but different languages. The French word “Gorge,” (or, in Italian, “gorgiera”) identifies the type of pleated collar worn by aristocrats in the 16th- and
17th-centuries. In English, of course, gorgeous means beautiful. Connecting these related meanings,  GORGEOUS hacks and accessorizes spent glass containers, repurposing them for a new life. A dressed-up jelly jar, spaghetti sauce container or orphaned drinking glass—sporting a tailored “gorge”—is
transformed into something life-giving and “gorgeous.” The project bolsters environmental advocacy and raises awareness, in Qatar, of the benefits of recycling, upcycling, reuse and regeneration.
